Want your car to startup every morning on the first try? Are your wiper blades ready for the heavy rain? Are your tires in good shape? Follow this simple checklist of get your car ready for winter.

  • Brakes
    Next to engine and tires, brakes are probably the most important part in your car. Winter's cold weather bring affect your brakes. Pay close attention to how your brakes feel and get them checked by the mechanic.
  • Heating and cooling system
    When its cold, you want your heater to be working. Its generally pretty hard for heaters to break in cars, but air conditioner are easy victims of weather. Make sure your A/C is working around the winter time.
  • Tires
    When the weather gets bad, you need better tires. Make sure your tires are in good shape.
  • Engine
    Get your engine tuned up for the winter. Winter tests your engine like no other weather.
  • Windshield
    Get some extra windshield washer solvent. If living in a snowy environment, carry an ice-scraper. Keep one in the car, and one in the house just in case the car doors freezes and you cannot get in.
